Pupil Registration: A registration form MUST be filled out prior to a pupil attending one of our classes. These forms ensure we have the pupil’s correct emergency contact details and are used to notify us of any medical conditions that the pupil may have. Forms should be completed for all new pupils, and at the beginning of each school year for existing pupils. A parent or guardian should fill out the form, or by the pupils themselves, if they are self-funded or over 18 years of age. The Pupil Registration Form is included in our Welcome Pack, and can also be obtained from the class teacher if required.
Emergency Contact Details: It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian (or the pupil themselves if self-funded or over 18 years of age), to ensure that the emergency contact details held by Dance Dynamix, are accurate during all class times, and to ensure the nominated person is available during the times of attendance to our classes. If the nominated person changes, or changes their address or phone number, it is the parent \ self-funded pupil’s responsibility to notify Dance Dynamix of this change.
Tuition Fees:
Tuition fees are charged on a per-term basis, and should be settled in full within 14 days of the term’s first class. If no payment is received during this period, a “late payment” fee of 10% will be added to the total amount. If a pupil enrolls in one of our classes part way through term time, the parent (or self-funded pupil) will be charged proportionately on the remaining classes in that term. They will not be required to pay the term fees in their entirety. Payment of fees can be made by cash or cheque. Please make all cheques payable to “Dance Dynamix”, and hand them to the class teacher, or send them to us via the post. Cash payments should only be handed to the class teacher in person, and under no circumstances should cash posted to us.
Cancellations: If for whatever reason you wish to cancel a class with Dance Dynamix, we request that our parents (or self-funded pupils) do this in writing at least 28 days before the start of the next term. This enables us to allocate our resources better and organise our classes more efficiently. We regret that fees cannot be reimbursed (in full or in part) in the case of a class being cancelled during term time.
"Watching Week":
During the last week of term, we allow parents to be present during our classes. This is a great way for parents to observe their child’s talent, and see the kind of material we typically cover in one of our classes. It is also of great assistance in building a child’s confidence, as during “Watching Week” the pupils have to perform to an audience.
During “Watching Week”, we do however request that our parents adhere to the following: - Mobile phones should be switched off or placed in silent-mode.
- Conversation should be kept to a bare minimum.
- Use only the designated seating provided.
- Parents who do not have children in the class may not attend.
- Respect should be shown to the pupils in the class, and the class teacher by causing as little distraction as possible.
- Food & Drink (other than water) should not be consumed during the class.
- If siblings are present, we would request that they are encouraged to sit quietly. If this is not possible, we ask that they be quietly taken out of the class, so as to cause minimal disruption.
Most of all, we hope you enjoy attending “Watching Week”. It is a great way to see just how talented your children are!
Pupil Absence:
We would request that if a pupil is unable to attend one of our classes for whatever reason (holidays, illness etc), that the parent or pupil informs us of this as soon as possible. This enables us to plan and organise our classes in an efficient manner.
Teacher Absence: In the event of one of our teachers being unable to teach a class through illness, an alternative dance teacher from Dance Dynamix may instead be utilised. If no substitute teacher is available, parents (and self-funded pupils) will be notified of a class cancellation at the earliest opportunity. In the situation that Dance Dynamix cancels a class, we will endeavour to provide an additional class at a suitable time in the future. If this is not achievable, or if pupils are unable to attend the alternative class, a refund of the single class will be made on the next terms invoice. Video & Photography:
Occasionally we intend to use video and stills photography for the purposes of creating promotional material for our dance school. This footage is for internal purposes only, and may be featured within printed material or on our website. It will not be available to parties or organizations outside of Dance Dynamix. If you specifically do not want your child included in such material, please notify us at the end of this document. Holiday Clubs & Performances: As a dance school, we occasionally organise additional events and activities for our pupils. The standard term fees do not cover these activities, and those wishing to attend will be charged a small additional cost. The attendance of holiday clubs are open to everyone in the recommended age group, and children who are not currently pupils at Dance Dynamix are more than welcome to attend. From time to time, Dance Dynamix hosts dance shows as public performances in local theatres. An additional fee will be charged for those wishing to perform in these shows, as this covers our additional overheads of costumes, props and extra rehearsal time. While this fee will cover most of the required costumes, in some circumstances parents / pupils may be required to provide some small additional items of clothing and accessories. Costumes purchased by Dance Dynamix for the show will remain the property of the dance school after the show is finished. This enables us to gradually build a stock of costumes, which may be used in future shows, and as a result allows us keep pupils show fees to a minimum.
Clothing & Hair: Full uniform must be worn to all classes without exception. Jewellery, make-up, T-shirts and all other non-uniform items are not permitted in our classes. Pupils should be fully changed, and waiting quietly in a line outside the classroom, at the scheduled starting time of the class. Changing is not permitted in our classrooms. Hair should be correctly secured for all classes. Pupils attending our ballet classes should have their hair styled in a “bun”. Food & Drink:
The consumption of food or chewing gum is forbidden during any of our classes. In the case of all-day show rehearsals, food may only be consumed during the designated lunch break. Drinks may be consumed during breaks, with the teacher’s permission.
